I haven't read all the stories mentioned here and look forward to reading them soon.I'm not sure if Nayantara Sahgal wrote short stories, but her novels at the very least I would say are a must-read for anyone interested in Indian writing.Kalshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07412141003430058757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2023956444265128672.post-70726252752449658092012-04-19T16:18:20.278+08:002012-04-19T16:18:20.278+08:00Vishy-thanks very much-Vishy-thanks very much-Mel uhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08714473754458914681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2023956444265128672.post-18722506264195671432012-04-18T14:04:57.092+08:002012-04-18T14:04:57.092+08:00Wonderful post, Mel! I have read essays by Mrinal Pande and I loved them, but I haven't read any of her short stories. I also liked the fact that other than the usual suspects - R.K.Narayan, Mulk Raj Anand, Khushwant Singh and Rabindranath Tagore - you have also included authors like Sunil Gangopadhyay and Bama. Your post is so beautiful and well-informed. Thanks for this introduction to Indian short stories.Vishyhttp://vishytheknight.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2023956444265128672.post-3518071911995551862012-01-23T18:54:58.706+08:002012-01-23T18:54:58.706+08:00Susan Deborah-thanks so much-I am also now happy t...Susan Deborah-thanks so much-I am also now happy to be a follower of your blog-please share your insights with us in your very welcome commentsMel uhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08714473754458914681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2023956444265128672.post-54044682338392791942012-01-23T17:00:36.370+08:002012-01-23T17:00:36.370+08:00I stumbled here while looking for material on Kath...I stumbled here while looking for material on Katherine Mansfield.
