It does sound very pretty though. Somehow, I could not help thinking of Coelho's The Alchemist...especially the part about exploring foreign lands.

I've bookmarked the story to read more leisurely at a later date.Songhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09707280327803432082noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2023956444265128672.post-74049006162134219472011-12-02T12:16:04.480+08:002011-12-02T12:16:04.480+08:00Interesting reading.

There's one story there by Sir Walter Scott that I found entertaining ("My Aunt Margaret's Mirror") and another by Achim Von Arnim called "The Mad Veteran of Fort Ratonneau" that I found surprisingly riveting. Achim Von Arnim is also a German author.HKatzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17653570160517335758noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2023956444265128672.post-55331354059547178472011-11-28T12:39:26.100+08:002011-11-28T12:39:26.100+08:00Carolina-I am having a lot of fun reading these sh...Carolina-I am having a lot of fun reading these short stories for your event-The Blue Flower is a very interesting book and probably would be very much so for youMel uhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08714473754458914681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2023956444265128672.post-78302587905418565822011-11-27T16:27:12.550+08:002011-11-27T16:27:12.550+08:00I love Novalis and am so glad you reviewed him.
I...I love Novalis and am so glad you reviewed him.
I think I read this story. I particularly like Novalis' Heinrich von Ofterdingen. The quest is a frequent topic in his work and in the work of many Romantics.
I have the Fitzgerald novel you mention, thanks for reminding me, I really need to read it.Carolinehttp://beautyisasleepingcat.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
