The Follow my Book Blog Friday Hop

This is my first time to particpate in Follow My Book Blog Friday.    I have been noticing that at least 50 of the  500 or so book blogs I follow join this event every week so I decided why not try it myself.   It seems to be a very friendly event to help book bloggers discover each other and to help everyone build up their follower numbers.


To those new to my blog mostly I post on short stories, Asian Fiction (I am in the Philippines) and classic fiction.    I recently hosted Irish Short Story Week and I am very open to events of all sorts.   I loved reading and exchanging reading ideas.    I love to discover new to me writers.  

This week the host of the hop, Parajunkee, gives us a question-this week it is -Do you judge a book by its cover?    My answer is yes for sure I do-huge amounts are spend on book design to induce us to buy and sometimes it works on me.

    I'm really big on judging books by their cover. Thanks to book blogs, I don't feel I miss out on books with bad covers. I always manage to find out about them anyways!

    I think we can all agree that even the most beautiful book cover can't sell a book if the writing's not there. Book cover art may, at best, help steer me in the book's direction (especially if I'm in a book store) but it's not going to hypnotize me into buying it right then and there.

    I'm also new to this event and just discovered it yesterday. But I have found a lot of wonderful blogs, so I think it's been great fun!

    As for the questions, I also judge by cover. But it's only what makes me interested in reading more; in the end the storyline wins. :)

    I totally agree, I definitely judge a book by it's cover. It doesn't always turn out to be a good one, but the cover is your first impression and if it looks good I'm more likely to buy! New follower :)
